Shivam Mavi is an emerging young pacer in Indian cricket who has already made his international debut but is yet to cement his spot in the national team. However, he has already taken a 4-wicket haul in a T20I to grab the limelight during his arrival.
Shivam Mavi is a right-arm pacer and a right-handed batsman. Although he is termed as an all-rounder, his specialization is medium-pace bowling. He tasted a lot of success and was popular with the Kolkata Knight Riders team in the Indian Premier League. He is currently part of Lukcnow Super Giants.
Early and Personal Life
Shivam Mavi was born in Noida, Uttar Pradesh in November 1998 in the Meerut district to Pankaj and Kavita Mavi. His father was a private contractor in Noida while his mother was a homemaker. He grew up with his sister Shalu Mavi.
He got his first break in September 2018 for the domestic team Uttar Pradesh. He has been part of the same domestic team till now. He also made his IPL debut for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2018 and played for the same side till 2022.
Domestic Career
He earned accolades in his debut game for Uttar Pradesh in September 2018 by picking a hat-trick in the Vijay Hazare Trophy against Saurashtra. Later, became a regular member of the side and is still part of the same franchise.
International Career
Perhaps, Mavi's biggest break was getting picked for India A team in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2018. With consistent shows in the domestic circuit, he finally got an entry into the national team in January 2023 with a T20I series against Sri Lanka.
However, it is the only series that Mavi has been part of. The right-arm pacer grabbed a 4/22 in one game and also won the player of the match award. However, since then, he has not had enough opportunities in both the Indian Premier League and the Indian Team.
Franchise Career
Mavi entered the Indian Premier League in the 2018 season with Kolkata Knight Riders and was part of the side till 2022. During his stay, he gave many prominent performances for the side.
