PSL 2022: Wasim Akram Issues Clarification After A Video Of Him Scolding Babar Azam Goes Viral

Legendary Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram has issued a clarification after a video of him scolding Karachi Kings captain Babar Azam went viral on social media platforms.

Karachi Kings are on a losing streak in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022, having lost 8 consecutive games in the T20 tournament, which is the worst performance by a team in the history of the Pakistan Super League. The latest defeat of the team came against Multan Sultans by 7 wickets, where Karachi Kings failed to defend a good 175-run total.

Also, looking at the poor on-field performance of the Karachi Kings the mentor of the team, Wasim Akram, was furious and he was engaged in a heated discussion with skipper Babar Azam near the boundary line during the final over of the game.

Notably, Karachi Kings had just 9 runs to defend in the final over of the match against Multan Sultans and bowler Umaid Asif began with a wide and then he even conceded a maximum, which eventually resulted in Kings losing the match.

After the video of the incident went viral on social media former Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram took to Twitter to issue a clarification on this matter.

The legendary pacer stated that he was surprised to see the reaction of fans on his interaction with Babar near the boundary line during the Pakistan Super League game. Akram added that he was talking to Babar about the line and length of the bowlers and labelled the Pakistan captain as a “wonderful boy”.

“Hello ! Surprised to see reactions on my talking to Babar at the boundary last night. What I was saying was ‘why our bowlers are not bowling yorkers or slower ones offside off’.nothing else . Babar is a wonderful boy and has tried his best. And what he wants for dinner,” wrote legendary Pakistan cricketer Akram.
