Defending champions, Multan Sultans have made a positive start in the PSL 2022. They have registered clinical wins in both the games played thus far. Multan Sultans conceded a mammoth 206-run total against Lahore Qalandars in the last game, but, despite that, they managed to chase it down in 19.2 overs.

Ahead of their third match against Quetta Gladiators, here’s a look at our predicted playing XI of the Multan Sultans.

Mohammad Rizwan and Shan Masood have scored the bulk of runs in both games. Chasing 206 in the last game, the duo stitched a 150-run partnership for the opening wicket. Ahead of the third game on Monday, the onus will, once again, be on their shoulders to give the team a strong start.

Middle-Order: Sohaib Maqsood, Rilee Rossouw, and Tim David

Sohaib Mahsood has made crucial contributions in both games but failed to convert the starts into big scores. Overseas talents, however, are yet to make a valuable contribution with the bat. Both Rossouw and Tim David have endured low scores in the tournament, but are unlikely to be dropped in the next game.

All-rounders: Khushdil Shah and David Willey

It took only 4 deliveries for Khushdil Shah to make headlines on Saturday. Needing 16 runs in the last over, Khushdil Shah hit 4,4,4,6 to finish the game with two balls remaining. With the ball, he took a crucial wicket while giving away 14 runs in 2 overs. The presence of Khushdil Shah and David Willey add balance to this side. Both should make it to the playing XI in the next game.

Bowlers: Anwar Ali, S Dahani, I Tahir and Ihnsanullah

The highest wicket-taker of last season, S Dahani is yet to find his rhythm in the tournament. He went for 44 runs in the last game and picked only 1 wicket. For Multan to fare well in the ball, he needs to find his form. Imran Khan went for plenty in the last two games and he might be replaced by Anwar Ali.

Among all the bowlers, Imran Tahir has been the most successful in the last two games. He produced a match-winning spell in the first game and followed it with an impressive spell of 1 for 32 in 4 overs.
