Peshawar Zalmi takes on Quetta Gladiators in match 2 of PSL 2024 in Lahore on Sunday from 2.30 pm IST. This is the first of the two games on Sunday with Multan Sultans taking on Karachi Kings in the second match in Multan from 8 pm IST.

Rilee Rossouw will be leading the Quetta side while Babar Azam will be leading the Peshawar Zalmi. Both the former Pakistan captains will have a point to prove in this tournament.

Babar Azam recently stepped down from captaincy after Pakistan’s forgetful performance in the ODI World Cup. He will look to make an impact by having a memorable tournament leading up to the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Sarfaraz Ahmed who is currently discarded across formats will also look to use this opportunity to make his presence felt within the side and fight for a comeback.

PSL 2024 starts on February 17 with a high-scoring game between Lahore Qalamdars and Islamabad United. Qalandars the defending champions lost the match against Islamabad who chased down 196 and won the match by 8 wickets. This is a glimpse of the fact that this PSL season might see a lot more high-scoring encounters with flat pitches across four venues.

Lahore will host nine league matches, Multan will host five. Rawalpindi will host 8 league games while Karachi will the maximum number of games. It will host 12 games, the eight league games and the four knockout games including the final on March 18. The two teams have played 21 matches in the PSL with the Quetta Gladiators winning nine matches and Peshawar Zalmi 12.
