Multan Sultans will lock horns against Islamabad United in the final of the ongoing Pakistan Super League 2024 (PSL 2024). The final is scheduled to take place on Monday (March 18) in Karachi.
The Multan-based outfit has been the most in-form team in PSL 2024. They qualified for the playoffs by finishing at the top of the points table. The Mohammad Rizwan-led side won seven of their ten league games to book their place in the playoffs. In the first Qualifier, they thrashed Peshawar Zalmi by seven wickets to storm into the final.

They won their maiden title in 2021 before losing the final against the Qalandars in 2022 and 2023.
Ahead of the final, Multan Sultans’ was boycotted by the media in Karachi after reportedly misbehaving with the media personnel. As per reports, the journalists wanted the captain or any other senior player for the press conference. However, the team management declined their request and also told them to leave if they did not want to ask questions to him. The journalists were not impressed by the manager’s comments and decided to boycott the press conference.

Islamabad United eye historic triumph:
While Multan Sultans will be desperate to make amends for their losses in the last two finals of the PSL, Islamabad United will be hoping that the trend continues and they win the game to become the first-ever team to win the tournament thrice.
Islamabad United won the inaugural edition of the PSL in 2016 before winning it again in 2018. They could not make it to the final since then before qualifying for the title decider this year. Having not lost a PSL final so far, Islamabad United will be looking to extend their winning run and clinch a historic third PSL title.
