Watch: Mohammad Nawaz punches Imad Wasim during PSL 2024 match, video goes viral

Mohammad Nawaz with his antics on Imad Wasim brought out his hilarious best during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 game between Karachi Kings and Islamabad United. The game between the two teams took place on Wednesday (28th February) at the National Cricket Stadium in Karachi. 

Mohammad Nawzaz had a decent outing in the game with both bat and ball. But what caught the attention of many was his gestures during the game with Imad Wasim. The all-rounder stole the limelight with his punch to his counterpart and left many in splits.

The incident took place during the 6th ball of the 15th over of the second innings. Mohammad Nawaz bowled a tossed-up full delivery that was just outside off. Imad pressed forward, trying to work this into the leg side. However, the bat got stuck in the wicket for a moment. 

The ball went past the inside edge as he took the long stride in. The ball struck him outside the line of off and they sneaked in an opportunity to take a run. But Mohammad Nawaz was adamant it was out and convinced his skipper to take the review. 

As he opted to DRS, Mohammad Nawaz sneaked in an opportunity to hit Imad Wasim. The bowler hit the batter on the chest and he seemed in pain as the duo shared the laughter. The video of the incident went viral on the internet and left many in splits.

Mohammad Nawaz before that delivery chipped in with a vital blow for his team. The all-rounder removed Colin Munro by trapping him in lbw. He bowled a length delivery just outside off. The ball gripped a touch and turned back in as the batter pressed back, trying to run the ball down to third man. The ball passed the inside edge and hit him flush on the back pad to send the batter packing. 

Imad Wasim fails to make an impact with the bat against the Karachi Kings 

Imad Wasim, who picked one wicket with the ball, couldn’t make a bigger impact with the bat in the game against Karachi Kings. The all-rounder perished for a two-ball duck as Tabraiz Shamsi removed him. He failed to punish the short ball and handed a straight catch to cover where Shan Masood held on to a sharp catch. 

After Imad Wasim got out, skipper Shadab Khan played an unbeaten 10-run knock whereas Agha Salman (25*) played a vital hand as well. Islamabad United completed a comfortable 7-wicket victory to bag important points under their belt. 

Shadab Khan while talking about the win said that he was delighted to see the effort of his team after the loss. He also highlighted the importance of putting energy on the field. Speaking to broadcasters, he explained: 

“When you win, sometimes your mistakes are covered. Lovely win, nice how the team picked up after the loss in the last game. We were not up to the mark in our fielding. We have to put more energy in the field. As a bowling unit we were very good. Sometimes you go for runs but if we field better it’s a different ball game,” he concluded.
