Tim Seifert, on Thursday (February 29), took a stunning diving catch to send back Sarfaraz Ahmed during the game between Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators in the ongoing Pakistan Super League 2024 (PSL 2024).

In the fourth over of the Gladiators’ innings, Tim Seifert had dropped an absolute dolly behind the stumps. Saud Shakeel’s miscued cut shot went behind the stump but the Karachi Kings wicketkeeper failed to catch the ball. Shakeel was batting on 14 at that stage and added 10 more runs before being dismissed by Hasan Ali.

Tim Seifert, on the other hand, came up with a stunning catch to make amends for his drop earlier in the game. In the 10th over of the innings, he pulled off the stunning diving catch to send back Sarfaraz Ahmed cheaply. Hasan Ali bowled a short delivery that was angled down the leg side.

Sarfaraz went for a pull but was a bit late to react to the delivery and ended up edging the ball towards the left of the wicketkeeper. While the ball was looking destined to go past Tim Seifert and run away for a four, the New Zealand wicketkeeper had other ideas. He made a full-length dive and caught the ball with one hand. The former Pakistan captain departed after scoring 3 off 6 balls.

Quetta Gladiators win thriller:

Talking about the game, the Gladiators beat Karachi Kings by five wickets. Riding on Sherfane Rutherford’s blazing half-century, the Quetta-based outfit won the game on the very final ball of the game. Asked to bat first, the Kings scored 165 for 8 in the allotted 20 overs.

James Vince (37) top-scored for his side. Towards the end, Anwar Ali’s cameo of 25 off 14 balls helped the Kings post a 160-plus total. In reply, the Gladiators chased down the total on the last ball of the match. With one needed on the final ball, Rutherford hit a four to take his team home. The West Indies star remained unbeaten on 58 off 31 balls with the help of four and six sixes.
