Shikhar Dhawan Family

Shikhar Dhawan is one of India's most decorated openers in the limited-overs cricket. The left-handed batsman played international cricket for more than a decade before announcing retirement from all forms of cricket in 2024.

He represented Team India in 34 Tests, 167 ODIs, and 68 T20Is scoring 2315, 6793, and 1579 runs respectively in the three formats. Dhawan also plied his trade for several teams in the IPL.

His last IPL team was Punjab Kings. In his illustrious IPL career, Dhawan played 222 games and scored 6769 runs.

Shikhar Dhawan's parents:

Shikhar Dhawan was born to Mahendra Pal Dhawan and Sunaina Dhawan. The Dhawan family is a Punjabi family with roots in Ludhiana, Punjab.

Shikhar Dhawan's father, Mahendra Pal Dhawan played a huge role in his son's journey. While not much is known about his personal life, Dhawan has never shied away from crediting his father for his success.

On the other hand, Shikhar Dhawan's mother, Sunaina Dhawan is a homemaker. Dhawan's father was against his marriage to Ayesha Mukherjee because she was ten years older than his son.

However, his mother supported the couple right from the start. Dhawan shares a very close bond with both of his parents.

Shikhar Dhawan’s Siblings:

Shikhar Dhawan is not the only child of his parents. He has a sibling as well, a younger sister Shrestha. The brother and sister share a very close bond.

Every year, Dhawan posts heartwarming pictures of Rakshabandhan celebrations with his sister. In 2017, he also took a break from the game to attend the wedding of his sister.

Shikhar Dhawan Wife:

Shikhar Dhawan was married to Ayesha Mukherjee. Ayesha was born to an Indian Bengali father and an English mother. While she was born in West Bengal, her family shifted to Australia when she was only eight years old.

In Australia, Ayesha got married to an Australian businessman. They were together for ten years before getting separated. Dhawan met Ayesha through Facebook and immediately fell for her. He got to contact her through his former India teammate Harbhajan Singh who was a mutual friend.

Dhawan and Ayesha got engaged in 2009 before tying the knot in 2012. However, the wedding did not last long and they announced separation in 2021. In 2024, a Delhi court granted divorce to Dhawan from Ayesha on the grounds of mental cruelty.

Shikhar Dhawan Kids:

In 2014, Shikhar Dhawan and Ayesha Mukherjee became biological parents together for the first time when they welcomed their son Zoravar.

Before that, Dhawan had adopted two daughters. Both the daughters were born to Ayesha and her husband.  Dhawan's elder stepdaughter’s name is Aliyah while the younger stepdaughter's name is Rhea.
