South Africa is scheduled to visit India in June to play five-match T20I series against the Men in Blues. The series will begin on June 9 just 10 days after the conclusion of IPL 2022.

This will be the first T20 International match for the Proteas since the T20 World Cup 2021 in UAE last year in November.

The Temba Bavuma-led side missed the semi-final berth by a whisker. After going down to Australia, South Africa won their remaining four fixtures but finished third on the points table owing to an inferior net run-rate to the eventual champions.

Early in January, a depleted South African side defeated a formidable Indian side in both the Test (2-1) and ODI (3-0) series.

The T20I series was scrapped because of the rising cases of Omicron, a variant of COVID-19 detected in Africa.

South Africa’s six Test players skipped the two-match red-ball series against Bangladesh to join with their respective IPL teams for the new season.

South Africa‘s white-ball specialists like Quinton de Kock, David Miller, and Dwaine Pretorious are having a great run in the tournament.

Let us look at three players who can cement their spot on the T20I side on a terrific IPL 2022.

IND vs SA: 3 South African Players Who Might Get Place In South Africa Squad vs India Based On Good Outing In IPL 2022

1) Aiden Markram

Markram initially started his career as an opener only recently did he grasp the nettle in the middle-order for both South Africa and Sunrisers Hyderabad in T20 cricket.

The 27-year-old has accumulated 263 runs in seven innings, striking at 149.43. He scored a valiant unbeaten 68 against KKR to take his side past the finishing line while chasing 176/3.

Markram has been regular in the South Africa T20I side since 2021 and with the responsibility of playing the anchor’s role, he can take his game to next level.

2) Marco Jansen

The left-arm pace bowler makes the best advantage of his 6’8 inches height to dismantle the batters with his variations.

Jansen rattled the top-order of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) comprising of Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and Anuj Rawat in a single over to script his best figures of IPL – 3/25.

The 22-year-old has played a couple of One-Day matches and five Tests but is yet to make his debut for South Africa in the shortest format.

With Anrich Nortje’s injury keeping him out of international matches, it could be a blessing in disguise for Jansen to push himself forward in the T20 team.

3) Dewald Brevis

‘Baby AB’ is the name the cricket world has given the nickname to the 19-year-old sensational talent. Brevis ended as the highest run-scorer in the ICC U-19 World Cup with 506 runs at an average of 84.33.

His batting prowess helped him bag the signing with Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2022 auction.

Brevis stayed up to all the hype surrounding his arrival in IPL 2022. The youngster hit Varun Chakravarthy for a no-look six on his IPL debut against KKR.

Brevis smashed Punjab Kings’ leg-spinner Rahul Chahar for four sixes in a row but missed his maiden half-century in IPL by a run.
