IND vs SA: Aakash Chopra Believes Umran Malik Is One Of The Potential Changes In India Playing XI vs South Africa In The 3rd T20I

Aakash Chopra believes Umran Malik can be included in their third Game for the 3rd T20I against South Africa If Team India wants to solve their middle-over bowling concerns.

Rishabh Pant’s side is 2-0 down in the five-match series against the Proteas going into the third T20I. In the first two T20Is, the Men In Blue’s failure to grab wickets in the middle innings has cost them dearly.

Aakash Chopra commented on the modifications Team India might implement for the third T20I in a video posted to his YouTube channel. He said that the such on the possibility of including either Malik or Arshdeep Singh:

“Is it possible to bring in Umran Malik or Arshdeep? I am not advocating any changes, but if one is required, I would go with Arshdeep, even though no one has taken more wickets in the IPL’s middle overs than Umran Malik. So, if you want to solve your middle-over problems, you can get Umran.”

‘Arshdeep is ahead of Umran in the pecking order: Aakash Chopra

While the former Indian batsman believes Arshdeep ought to be picked, he believes Malik has a chance to beat the left-arm bowler. According to Aakash Chopra,

“In the pecking order, Arshdeep is above Umran. When pressure is applied, though, the squad frequently tries out new combinations. So Umran may play today’s match.”
