Harbhajan Singh has shown his disappointment over the non-selection of Rahul Tripathi after BCCI announced the squad for the upcoming series against South Africa.
Rahul Tripathi, Sanju Samson, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Prithvi Shaw are among a couple of expected names who have failed to come to the 18-member India squad for the upcoming five-match T20 series versus South Africa, scheduled to begin from June 9 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Senior Players Rested For SA Series
Also, in accordance with informal reports, the accomplished players like Virat Kohli, captain Rohit Sharma, and pacer Jasprit Bumrah as well, have been rested for the series, which would be team India’s first international assignment post-IPL 2022.
The update has implied that wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul would be the one driving team India, with Rishabh Pant chose as his deputy.
Taking everything into account, Jammu and Kashmir pacer Umran Malik, Punjab’s Arshdeep Singh, the spinner team of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, and the accomplished wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik have been compensated for their exhibitions in the ongoing IPL season.
Harbhajan Singh Disappointed By Rahul Tripathi’s Absence From India Squad
Former team India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has post the declaration of the team, communicated his disappointment over Rahul Tripathi’s absence from the same.
Disappointed to not see Rahul Tripathi’s name in the squad. He deserved a chance.
“Disappointed to not see Rahul Tripathi’s name in the squad. He deserved a chance,” he tweeted.
Tripathi, 31, is the second-highest run-scorer for his IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) this season, having crushed several half-centuries and a few crucial 30+ scores, at an average of 40.70.
Fans and specialists across the social media platforms have been reliably presenting a defense for the 31-year-old, as a well-suited competitor meriting to be given a maiden India call-up.
After a noteworthy IPL debut for the now-dead Rising Pune Supergiant in 2017, Tripathi made a few fundamental commitments for KKR in the past season too.
Regardless of BCCI having picked second-string sides without even a trace of their senior players in the new past, the right-handed Tripathi has maybe been unfortunate for not procuring a spot in the national side at this point.
