In a three-match T20I series that began on Wednesday, India is playing South Africa. It will be their final series until the T20 World Cup starts next month. Saba Karim, a former BCCI selector, recently discussed Dinesh Karthik starting instead of Rishabh Pant at number six.

Karthik’s talent as a finisher at No. 6 appears to be working to his benefit. Pant, on the other hand, brings left-handed hitting prowess to the table.

The T20I series between Team India and South Africa got off to a respectable 8-wicket start on Wednesday in Thiruvananthapuram. The Men in Blue completed the pursuit of the mark with 20 balls remaining after holding the Proteas to a meagre 106/8 in 20 overs. KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav’s unbroken 93-run stand gave India a 1-0 lead in the three-match series after Arshdeep Singh and Deepak Chahar destroyed the opposition’s top order.

Team India won the first T20I against South Africa by an impressive 8-wicket margin on Wednesday in Thiruvananthapuram. The Men in Blue chased down the goal with 20 balls to spare after restricting the Proteas to 106/8 in 20 overs. The undefeated 93-run stand between KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav gave India a 1-0 lead in the three-match series after Arshdeep Singh and Deepak Chahar blasted through the opposition top-order.

The team’s management has decided to go with Dinesh Karthik: Saba Karim

Saba Karim, the former BCCI selector, recently discussed Dinesh Karthik starting instead of Rishabh Pant at number six.

“There is always the chance, but I believe the Indian team management has decided to stick with Dinesh Karthik, which is not a bad decision.”

“They believe they need more of his type of player at number six who can play the finisher’s job much better than Rishabh Pant has done in that role before, and the positions above that have been handled “ Saba Karim said on Sports 18.

“So, I do have my doubts that Rishabh Pant will get a look in because the Indian team has kind of found the right combination” Saba Karim Added.

India will now face South Africa in the second match of the three-game T20I series in Guwahati on October 2.
