With Quinton de Kock, David Miller dominated an undefeated partnership of 174 and almost brought South Africa over the finish line. In the end, though, India’s bowlers had an excessive number of runs to work with and won the second T20I of their three-match series against South Africa by 16 runs, giving the Guwahati hosts a 2-0 victory and sealing the series.
A frightening occurrence occurred during the game after the seventh over of the first innings when a snake was discovered on the ground, in addition to the tension of the high-octane match.
Before the focus changed to a snake that emerged on the big screen, the cameras showed the South African fielders and Indian openers turning their heads in a specific direction. The ground personnel rushed onto the field to escort the snake off the ground as it was pursued by them.

It’s Out Of Our Control: David Miller
David Miller of South Africa spoke about the event after the game and said that he “felt there was a lot going on there.” The 33-year-old also discussed the power outage that stopped play in the middle of his team’s innings.
In the post-match press conference, David Miller said, “It’s out of our control. It kind of just gave us a little bit of time of process what happened.
“Gave us an opportunity to chat about in the powerplay after the first couple of overs went India’s way. And then there was the issue with the snake as well. I thought there was a lot going on there.”

Despite David Miller’s undefeated effort of 106 runs off 47 balls, the visitors could only reach 221 for three in 20 overs while chasing a target of 238 runs. Eight fours and seven sixes were part of his explosive innings, but South Africa still lost by 16 runs despite it. For India, Arshdeep Singh was in excellent form once more and claimed two wickets.
In the meantime, the hosts scored 237 for three in 20 overs thanks to half-centuries from KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav. Rahul scored 57 runs off 28 deliveries, while opener Suryakumar scored 61 runs off 22 balls. In the meantime, Virat Kohli, who was also hitting well, scored 49 runs off just 28 pitches.
To Bowl And Bat In The Death Is Very Tough: Rohit Sharma
Following the game, the victorious captain Rohit complimented his team and said, “All of us came together and said it was what we wanted to do as a team. It might not come across at times, but we want to stick to it. What I have seen in the last 8-10 months is individuals putting their hand up and getting the job done for the team.
“Guys without too much experience did this as well. The team wants to play and bowl in a certain way and we want to give them that confidence. Yes, we have not bowled well at the death in the last five or six games. We are doing the same to the opposition as well.”

“To bowl and bat at the death is very tough. That is where the game is decided. It is not concerning, but we need to pick ourselves and get our act together. I am thinking of not playing Surya anymore and play him directly on 23rd. This is how is game is and we just want to keep him happy.”
