India’s thumping victory against South Africa has given them a huge amount of confidence. The Men in Blue had taken 5 wickets of Proteas batters in the power-play itself. The batters were clueless against the swing of Arshdeep Singh & Deepak Chahar as the duo was making the batters dance to their tunes.
It won’t be wrong to say that the 1st T20I match was quite a one-sided affair. It looked as if Proteas were not ready for a grassy pitch but in International Arena, the batters should be ready for any uphill challenge. The visitors would be worried about their below-par performance as such sort of performance can disturb the dynamics of the team.
Kamran Akmal on Arshdeep Singh
Former Pakistani wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal was highly impressed by Arshdeep Singh and made some interesting comments on his YouTube channel.
“Arshdeep Singh is an incredible bowler. Mere khyaal se Indian team ko doosra Zaheer Khan mil gaya hai. Pace aur swing dono hain, aur samajhdaari se bowling karta hai.
“Mentally strong hai, usko pata hai uski ability kya hai, kaise condition ko use karna hai (I think the Indian team has found its next Zaheer Khan. Arshdeep has both, pace and swing, and he has that bowling intelligence. He’s mentally strong and knows his abilities, and uses them according to the conditions.),” he said.
Arshdeep Singh Shines On the Stage
The left-arm pacer was not a part of the recently concluded India vs Australia T20I Series as he was in NCA working on his skills & fitness. The pacer made the most use of the conditions and bowled impeccable lines & lengths.
The bowler looks a bit rejuvenated and it won’t be wrong to say that the pacer looks a lot focused in his approach.
The management would be thrilled by seeing Arshdeep picking up 3 wickets in the match. Apart from the wickets, he disturbed the batters with his angle as the batters were left puzzled whether the ball is an in-swinger or out-swinger. Arshdeep would be aware of the fact that he needs to be consistent as a couple of bad games can question his place in the team.
