Indian Cricket Team has been going through a lot of injuries. The recent injury of Deepak Chahar has meant that he is sidelined for the remaining 2 ODIs. India is blessed to have a huge pool of players due to which there’s no need to panic. Billion people would be hoping that Team India avoids series defeat in the 2nd T20I match.

South Africa on the other hand would be somewhat happy as Deepak Chahar was troubling them a lot with the new ball. The Proteas would be well aware of the fact that they can’t get complacent as losing 2 back to back matches won’t take any time in a short 3 match ODI Series.

Shardul Thakur on Team India

Shardul Thakur was seen attending the pre-match press conference and was asked about how is the environment in the team after Deepak Chahar’s injury. “Mood in team fantastic despite injuries, it is part and parcel of the game. We have been playing together for quite few years. We are comfortable with each other. Injuries are part and parcel of the game. Someone is going to get hurt and some time. We do not need to take it to heart. There is a lot of cricket to come.” said Thakur.

Great Opportunity for Shikhar Dhawan

The left-handed batter won’t get a better opportunity to make a case for himself for ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. He has a good record against South Africa and most importantly he knows how to play the waiting game. Irrespective of the pitch, the batter can be lethal.

South Africa on the other hand should be ready for a counter-punch for Men in Blue. There are chances that they may apply an ultra-aggressive approach to score quickly in the power-play overs. It would be quite fascinating to see the contest between Indian batters and South African bowlers; in the 1st ODI South Africa was quite discipline in their approach.
