Indian Cricket Team had a tough 1st ODI against South Africa. The batters were unable to score runs on a spicy pitch. Sanju Samson was the biggest positive of the match where he scored an unbeaten 86 runs in 63 balls where he smashed 9 fours and 3 sixes. The batter would be regretting of not winning the match for India as the team had fallen short by only 9 runs.

Sanju Showed that he belongs to the International Arena. The right-handed batter played smartly as he took calculative risks against bowlers. The management would be happy as he has made a case for himself in the team. The batter should try to get into the team as a batter rather than a wicket-keeper as there’s already Rishabh Pant & Ishan Kishan.

Aakash Chopra on Sanju Samson

Aakash Chopra was seen speaking on his YouTube Channel and made a statement about Sanju Samson. “Sanju Samson deserves the praise. He has fans everyone. Makes batting look so easy. He was (batting) in a different league altogether. There’s not much feet movement – only when he has to step out. Otherwise, he stays still, maintains balance and that’s why he manages to transfer his weight well and get his timing right.” said Aakash

“A little miscalculation. Had Samson not kept Avesh Khan on strike and played 3-4 deliveries himself, India may have won the match. They lost by 9 runs – they wouldn’t have otherwise. Finishing is always a tough job.”  he added.

Stern Test for India

Indian Cricket Team wasn’t ready for the South Africa challenge. The Men in Blue will have to be careful in their approach as South Africa has got one of the best bowling attacks. The batters need to make sure that they are forming partnerships and setting a platform for the finishers to go bang-bang.

Shreyas Iyer had scored a half-century but he missed an opportunity to be at the end. He won’t get such sort of opportunity every time. The right-handed batter needs to get a big match-winning hundred to make a case for himself in the next year’s ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
