In the T20 cricket format, a bowler’s or a batter’s effectiveness hinges on the diversity they bring to the field. With his all-around talent for the Indian men’s cricket squad, Suryakumar Yadav has undoubtedly altered the position of a T20 hitter.

In fact, he is already being referred to be the top T20I hitter in the world by some. Saba Karim, a former India selector, isn’t in a rush to grant Surya the title just yet although he has emerged as a match winner for India.

Saba Karim Wants Suryakumar Yadav To Replicate His Form In T20 World Cup

“Suryakumar Yadav has emerged as a match-winner for India. I am still waiting for him to score a big score against top-quality opposition in a big tournament, and I will only then label him as the best T20I cricketer in modern-day cricket.

That opportunity is coming up for Suryakumar and I want him to replicate his form in T20 World Cup,” Karim said on India News.

“Suryakumar possesses all the qualities required in a batter. He scored runs against a strong bowling and fielding attack in the middle-order. He has an incredible range of shots but must deliver in T20 World Cup to be counted among world-class batters,” he added.

Suryakumar Yadav Is An Unpredictable Batter: Saba Karim

Karim went on to say that the bowler is under a lot of strain since Surya may smash many strokes from the same type of ball.

“He is an unpredictable batter and it’s tough to bowl such players. If a batter can play three different shots off the same delivery, imagine the pressure on the bowler,” he asserted.

Surya concluded with 118 runs with an incredible strike rate of 185.48 and an average of 38.33 to lead India’s offence in the three-match T20I series against Australia. As the Indian side won the third and final T20I match to decide the outcome of the series, he was also awarded Player of the Match.
