IND vs SA: Suryakumar Yadav To Be Out Of Action For Four Weeks; To Miss Few Games Of South Africa T20Is – Report

Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav is reportedly said to be out of action for four weeks and could miss a few games against South Africa next month.
The 31-year-old was recently ruled out of the IPL 2022 after suffering a muscle strain on the left forearm. Suryakumar was hit on the left arm while attempting a single run during Mumbai Indians’ game against Gujarat Titans on May 6.
“Suryakumar Yadav has sustained a muscle strain on the left forearm, and has been ruled out for the season. He has been advised rest, in consultation with the BCCI medical team,” Mumbai Indians issued a statement on Monday (May 9).

According to a Cricbuzz report, BCCI sources confirmed that the middle-order batter will be out of action for at least four weeks. India are scheduled to host South Africa for five T20 International matches from June 9 to June 19.
Suryakumar could be fit to play after almost a month-long break for the upcoming T20I series. He could miss the first few games subject to his fitness.
The report mentioned that Suryakumar has not proceeded to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru after the detection of his injury and will undergo scans on Wednesday in Mumbai.
The Mumbai batter’s injury added salt on the wounds of the five-time IPL champions who are having their worst IPL season. The Rohit Sharma-led side lost nine matches in 11 games, their first instance in the history of the tournament.

Suryakumar amassed 309 runs in eight matches at an average of 43.29 with three half-centuries.
“With all your wishes and support, I will be back in no time,” the Mumbai Indians batter tweeted on Monday.
“To my MI family, I will be cheering for you from the other side, this time. Let’s finish the tournament on a high note and display our true character on field,” he further wrote.
India will play the first T20I match against the Proteas on June 9 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
