IND vs SA: That Lesson Has Stuck To My Mind – Hardik Pandya Reveals MS Dhoni's Lesson That Helped Him Become A Better Player

Star India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has revealed a lesson from the legendary India captain MS Dhoni that has helped him become a better cricketer.

Hardik Pandya has been in brilliant form since the Indian Premier League 2022, where he led Gujarat Titans to the IPL 2022 triumph in his debut season as a skipper. Hardik scored crucial 46 runs in the 4th T20I of the five-match series against South Africa at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on Friday to eventually help India win the match.

In a video shared by the BCCI, Hardik and Dinesh Karthik were having a conversation after winning the 4th T20I and Hardik said:

“For me genuinely nothing changes because I play the situation, I play the symbol which is there on my chest. The only thing which I want to get better with time, it’s about how…smoothness and how frequently I can do the same thing which I did for Gujarat Titans and for India as well.”

Hardik further said that the legendary Indian captain Dhoni had once told him to focus on the team’s requirement rather than his own score to get rid of the pressure.

“Earlier in the days, Mahi bhai taught me one thing. I asked him a very simple thing like ‘how do you get away from pressure and everything?’ And he gave me a very simple advice.

“It was like, ‘Stop thinking about what is your score, start thinking what your team requires.’ That lesson has stuck to my mind and kind of helped me become the player which I have become. Whichever situation I go in, I assess and play accordingly.”
