IND vs SA: The Way The Team Showed Character From 0-2 Down Was A Huge Positive - Rishabh Pant
Indian captain Rishabh Pant was happy with the way the team came back from a 0-2 deficit in the 5-match series against South Africa, which concluded on Sunday.
The final game in Bengaluru, which was set to be the decider, was abandoned after heavy rain. The two teams shared the trophy and following the abandonment, South Africa held on to their record of never having lost a T20I series on Indian soil.
“There are a lot of positives. The way the team showed character from 0-2 down was a huge positive. We are in a nice spot as we are finding different ways to win the game.”
“I can only think about giving my 100% as a player and captain. It is for you guys to decide on how I am doing as a player and captain, I can only focus on giving my 100% every time I go on the field and keep improving,” Pant said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
“This is the first time I have lost so many tosses” – Rishabh Pant
Pant was on the wrong side of the coin every step of the way, losing all the 5 tosses in the 5 matches that were played. He was the stand-in captain of the Indian team in the series after KL Rahul was ruled out.
“This is the first time I have lost so many tosses, but it is not in my control. We will be keen to win the Test we are going to play in England and from a personal point of view I am keen to contribute more to the team with the bat,” he also added.
