IND vs SA: Twitter Reacts As Dinesh Karthik Smashes First T20I Fifty Of His Career

Indian wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik scored a blazing fifty against South Africa in the fourth T20I of the 5-match series between the two sides on Friday.
After India was asked to bat first for the 4th time in a row, the top order had a rough outing. While Ishan Kishan found his range with a few strokes, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shreyas Iyer fell for 5 and 4 respectively.
Rishabh Pant had a terrible outing with the bat as he struggled his way to a 23-ball 17. Although the surface is on the slower side, Karthik and Hardik Pandya showed the batting lineup how to do it on a tough batting pitch.
They took their time to get in before smashing boundaries at will. The first 10 overs yielded just 56 runs but the last ten went for 113, with Karthik doing most of the damage.
It was the first time in the series that he got to bat with plenty of overs left and he made the most of it. He took a particular liking to Dwaine Pretorius, smashing him for 3 consecutive boundaries to set the ball rolling.
Although Hardik got out in the penultimate over after scoring 46 off 31 balls, Karthik ensured India end the innings on a high. He brought up his maiden fifty in the final over, bringing up the landmark off his 26th delivery.
The knock was highly praised considering it came at a time when India needed it the most, with the series on the line.
