IND vs SA: Could Surprise A Lot Of Teams In ICC T20 World Cup 2022 – Ajay Jadeja On Team South Africa

Former India National Cricket Team player Ajay Jadeja believes that the Temba Bavuma-led South Africa National Cricket Team could surprise several teams in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, which is the eighth edition of the multi-nation tournament, is scheduled to be played from October 16 to November 13. The Proteas are placed in Group B along with India, Pakistan and Bangladesh in the multi-nation tournament.

During a discussion on Cricbuzz, former India National Cricket Team player Ajay Jadeja said:

“South Africa is a team that could surprise a lot of teams in the World Cup and unfortunately, they are in our pool.”

South Africa National Cricket Team had an incredible campaign at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 in UAE. They were placed in the group of death along with England, Australia, West Indies and Sri Lanka. The Temba Bavuma-led side won 4 out of 5 games in the group stage but were unable to make it to the semi-finals due to a poor net run rate.

South Africa and India are set to go head-to-head in a 6-match white-ball series ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. The T20I games will be played on September 28, October 2 and October 4 in Thiruvananthapuram, Guwahati and Indore. The ODI games are scheduled to be played in Ranchi, Lucknow and Delhi on October 6, October 9 and October 11.

Ajay Jadeja further said that KL Rahul and Ravichandran Ashwin are the players to watch out for in the upcoming T20I series. Also, he was optimistic about Rahul having a good run with the bat against South Africa.

“I think KL Rahul is someone to watch out for and will have a good series. South Africa’s bowling works perfectly for him. He didn’t have as good a series as he would have wanted against Australia,” he stated.

“I also hope Ravi Ashwin plays because he is a man that I will watch out for. He could make a difference from India’s point of view,” he added.
