India is set to face Sri Lanka in an upcoming T20I and Test series. The IND vs SL T20I series will witness three games while the Test series comprise two matches. The IND vs SL T20I series begins on February 24 (Thursday) with the first encounter.

For the T20I series, BCCI has named an 18-member squad for India. The team will be led by skipper Rohit Sharma. Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli have been given rest in the T20I series. KL Rahul is out due to a hamstring injury. Sanju Samson and Ravindra Jadeja have been roped in the squad.

3. Prithvi Shaw

Prithvi Shaw is their first player on this list. The right-handed batsman gave a fabulous performance in IPL 2021 last year. He slammed 479 runs in 15 games at an average of 31.93 and half-centuries.

In spite of T20I opener KL Rahul being absent from the series and Ishan Kishan’s poor form in the ongoing IND vs WI series as an opener, the selectors did not think of calling Prithvi Shaw in the T20I series against Sri Lanka.

2. Devdutt Padikkal

Devdutt Padikkal is another player on this list. The left-handed batsman gave a marvellous performance in IPL 2021, smashing a century that gained everyone’s attention. The 20-year-old shattered 411 runs in 14 games in the tournament at an average of 31.61, hitting 1 century and 1 half-century.

However, the left-handed batsman has not been given a chance in the ongoing series. With the absence of T20I opener KL Rahul, Padikkal could have been given a spot in the squad as he can bat as an opener.

1. Prasidh Krishna

Prasidh Krishna is another player on this list. Krishna has proved himself in the ODI format. In the recent India vs West Indies ODI series, the right-arm pacer grabbed 9 wickets in 3 games at an amazing average of 7.56.

He also bagged the player of the series award for his impeccable bowling show and player of the match award in one game for a 4-wicket haul. After his impressive show in the ODI series against West Indies, the 26-year-old pacer deserved a chance in the IND vs SL T20I series.
