Indian vice-captain for the SL Test series Jasprit Bumrah has confirmed that veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is fit and available for selection for the first Test after recovering from an injury. The off-spinner missed the West Indies and the Sri Lanka series at home as he was recovering from his injury. The first Test will be played in Mohali (March 4-8) followed by the second test in Bengaluru (March 12-16 D/N).

Addressing a press conference ahead of the first test, Jasprit Bumrah spoke on the team’s preparations and spoke specifically about Ravichandran Ashwin’s recovery from his injury. The BCCI and the management gave Ashwin enough time to recover so that he can be available for the Test series at home.
