IND vs SL: Ravindra Jadeja Becomes Only 6th Player To Hit 150-plus Score And Bag 5 Wickets In The Same Test

Ravindra Jadeja bagged a rare feat in his kitty in the ongoing India vs Sri Lanka 1st Test. Jadeja became the only 6th player to smash a 150+ knock and pick 5 wickets in the same Test. In India vs Sri Lanka 1st Test, Ravindra Jadeja slammed an unbeaten 175-run knock in the 1st innings. Later, he also picked 5 wickets in the match.

Ravindra Jadeja attacked from the start of Indian bowling. He dismissed skipper opener Dimuth Karunaratne for 28. Later, he dismissed Niroshan Dickwella, Suranga Lakmal, Vishwa Fernando, and Lahiru Kumara to grab a fifer. In all, Jadeja bowled 13 overs in the match and picked 5 wickets while conceding 41 runs.

Ravindra Jadeja 6th Player To Register 150+ Score And 5 Wickets in Same Test

Ravindra Jadeja has become the 6th player to smash a 150+ score and pick 5 wickets in the same Test match. The rare feat is only achieved by 5 other players in the past namely- Vinoo Mankad, Denis Atkinson, Polly Umrigar, Gary Sobers, and Mushtaq Mohammad.

Earlier, Ravindra Jadeja slammed a 175-run unbeaten knock in the 1st innings off 228 balls. He smacked 17 fours and 3 sixes during his knock. He also stitched 100+ partnerships with Rishabh Pant, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Mohammed Shami. With his incredible knock, India reached 574-8 (d) in the 1st innings.

Other than Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin picked 2 wickets each while Mohammed Shami got 1 wicket in the 1st innings. In batting, Rishabh Pant also slammed a fabulous 96-run knock in the 1st innings. R Ashwin also scored a 61-run knock while Hanuma Vihari scored 58 runs.

With Jadeja’s incredible 5-wicket haul, India managed to bowl out Sri Lanka for just 174 runs., taking a 400-run lead after the end of the 1st innings. Sri Lanka now follows up the lead in the 2nd innings. India has gained a dominant position in the match with victory on their side.
