Rohit Sharma’s captaincy in the first Test against Sri Lanka was praised by Reetinder Sodhi, who believes the Mumbaikar is meant to lead Team India.
Rohit Sharma’s Test captaincy has started off with India thumping Sri Lanka by an innings and 222 runs in Mohali to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. Rohit has thus become the first player since Polly Umrigar in December 1955 to lead India to an innings victory in his first match as Test captain. India were dominant throughout the match with Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin’s all-round performances being the highlight of the Test.

Rohit Sharma’s captaincy in the first Test was evaluated by Reetinder Sodhi. He said, ”
“You’ll have to give a lot of credit to Rohit Sharma, who led the team admirably. Although it was Rohit Sharma’s maiden Test match, he showed no signs of anxiety. “I believe he was destined to lead.”
He has played so much cricket that the captaincy was calling his name, and he is now the captain of all three formats. In three days, he won the match for India. He’ll be overjoyed; his XI was flawless, and his field placements and bowling changes were outstanding. Rohit Sharma’s self-assurance was palpable.
Ravi Jadeja’s All-Round Performance is also praised by Reetinder Sodhi:

You remember Ravindra Jadeja’s sword celebration when you hear his name. I think he was a class apart in terms of how good he batted and how devastating he was. He did a fantastic job of filling in the blanks. Then there came bowling, which was the cherry on top. Ravindra Jadeja’s name was used in this match.
He was having some difficulties and had some niggles, but he has responded admirably to his critics. We expect you to keep swinging the blade in this manner.
Team India scored a magnificent 574/8 declared in their first innings, thanks to Jadeja’s unbroken 175 runs. After that, the left-arm spinner took nine wickets in Sri Lanka’s two innings, finishing with one of the best all-round Test match performances ever.
