Yuzvendra Chahal Not Recovered From Injury Occurred In 1st ODI: Rohit Sharma

At the toss, India skipper Rohit Sharma revealed that Yuzvendra Chahal has not recovered from the injury he got after putting in a dive in the last game. Therefore, he was replaced by Kuldeep Yadav.

“One enforced change for us, Chahal in the last game put in a dive and hasn’t recovered well today, so Kuldeep Yadav comes in.” Sharma said.

There were no more changes to the Indian team which outplayed the opponents in the first game. After losing the toss, Sharma said that he was in two minds about his decision in case he would have won the toss.  He added that what the team has done in the past is the past and they need to look ahead and keep doing better.

“I was in two minds. Wanted to bat first because of how we played last time, but looking at this ground, I wanted to field. Overall, improvements are as a team, nothing in particular. What we’ve done in the past is in the past, we need to look ahead and keep doing better. I love playing here, the crowd is also energetic and that motivates me always. But it is in the past, I need to start fresh.” Sharma said.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka was forced to make two changes in the Playing XI as Injuries ruled out Dilshan Madushanka and Pathum Nissanka. Nuwanidu Fernando and Lahiru Kumara made it into the visitors’ playing XI.
