“India knew that they had to get off to a good start”: Chris Silverwood

Sri Lankan head coach Chris Silverwood questioned his bowlers’ lack of discipline.

“Obviously, we didn’t get off to the best start. To be brutally honest, our discipline in the first 10 overs was weak at times, and we allowed India to get off to a decent start. This is a high-scoring area. India recognized the importance of getting off to a solid start, and we allowed them to do so, “Chris Silverwood remarked after the game.

“They gained momentum as a result, and we had to constantly push back to attempt to slow them down. And I believe we did this for a time. But when you have a world-class batting line-up like India’s, it’s difficult to stop them,” Chris Silverwood Added.

Sri Lanka’s fielding was also considered poor. Kohli was dropped twice, first on 52 and again on 81. He went on to score 113 runs on only 87 balls.
