Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) looked totally out of socks this season and they will be happy that the IPL was suspended in the midway giving them a good chance to plan for the next auction. Sunrisers have always relied on their Indian bowlers and overseas batsman to come good and they will need to change that soon.

They dropped their talisman, David Warner, from the playing XI after his low scores and sacked him from captaincy too replacing him with Kane Williamson. This has clearly shown what their future plans will be and they have to be very wise while retaining players. Here are 3 players Sunrisers Hyderabad might retain for IPL 2022.

Manish Pandey:

Manish Pandey hasn’t had the best of times recently after being dropped from the Indian limited-overs squad and he has struggled to improve his strike rate which has been a concern over him. He was even dropped from the squad after failing to up the scoring rate but still remains an important member of the squad.

He is one of the best Indian talents but has far more experience in IPL now and he must start having those big seasons and winning games for his franchise. Pandey needs to start playing freely and he can be sent back to the opening position where he is very comfortable. He is expected to be retained by the Sunrisers Hyderabad despite his struggles recently.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar:

Bhuvneshwar Kumar made an excellent comeback to the Indian limited-overs squad against England after suffering from injuries and looked to have got to his best again. But he was very less effective in this IPL and failed to pick up early wickets for the franchise in the powerplay.

Sunrisers generally tend to do well when he has a good season and being the leader of the attack, he must be more responsible.

Also, he has failed to get the much-needed support from the other end, while Natrajan was injured and there has been a long list of talented Indian domestic bowlers in the Sunrisers squad but no one has impressed much. Sunrisers should be looking to pick up some fast bowlers who can bowl raw pace while retaining Bhuvneshwar Kumar who will be back at his best soon.

Rashid Khan:

Rashid Khan has been the standout spinner and player in the tournament for Sunrisers Hyderabad and he has been very economical even when he is not getting the wickets. But that has been a plan from the opposition teams to play out his four overs without giving wickets to him.

However, he is the only bowler who looks like getting wickets for the Sunrisers, and his clever variations always threaten the batsman.

The number one T20 bowler in the world is looking for good support from the other bowlers and Sunrisers will be looking to build the team around him. He has been very consistent and should be the only overseas player to be retained by the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
