Dhoni has captained India in six T20 World Cups so far in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016 and has been taken India to two finals. He has been playing the finisher role to perfection for India in T20I internationals so far.

Dhoni played 72 T20I as captain of India and he was unlucky to not score a half-century despite averaging 37. The closest to his record has been Faf Du Plessis who has scored 1003 runs as T20I captain in 31 matches.

Dhoni holds the record for the most number of sixes as an international captain. In 324 matches as a captain in all the formats, Dhoni has hit 204 sixes and is the only captain to have hit more than 200 sixes.
