Jayawardene has won 10 Man of the Match awards in ICC tournaments from the 50-over cricket 1999 Worldcup to the 2014 T20 World cup. His century against India in the finals of the 2011 World cup will always be remembered but had to end up on the losing side.
Shane Watson:
The former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson is third on the list of players with the most man of the match awards in the ICC tournaments. Watson was phenomenal with the bat after being promoted up the order for Australia and he was always a match-winner for the side with his big-hitting ability.
Watson won his last ICC tournament with the Australian side in the 2015 Worldcup where he played as a finisher and his battle against Wahab Riaz of Pakistan will always be remembered. Watson has 10 ICC man of the match awards in a career that lasted from 2005 to 2016.
Sachin Tendulkar:
The great man, Sachin Tendulkar is one of the greatest batsmen of all time in cricket history, and having started his international career at a very young age, Sachin played in six 50-over World cups for India, along with the ICC champions trophy in between.
Sachin scored almost 34,000 international across formats and holds most of the records in the books. He was lucky enough to win his final ICC tournament with the 2011 Worldcup win and he deserved it for being a great servant to Indian cricket. He won 10 Man of the Match awards in his career from the period of 1989 to 2012.
Chris Gayle:
Chris Gayle holds the record for the most number of man of the match awards in ICC tournaments. The aggressive left-hander has won 11 Man of the Match awards and the big man set the stage on fire when he gets into his groove. Gayle is a prolific six-hitter and is one of the best in business in shorter formats.
He is the only active cricketer on this list who is playing for his country in T20Is still and he will be available for the ICC T20 Worldcup 2021 where he can still increase the number of his man of the match awards tally.
