England has taken a lead of 2-1 in the five-match T20 series by winning the third T20i against India and the hosts will now have to make some changes for the fourth T20i.  A spirited bowling effort from England pace attack led by Mark Wood at the front put India in the backseat early and the top order collapse continued for India while batting first.

India looks toothless at the moment with their bowling attack and the only attacking option they have at the moment is Yuzvendra Chahal who has gone for more than 10 an over in his four out of five games. A lot to worry about for the Indian team and let us look at 3 changes that team India should make going into the fourth T20i against England at Ahmedabad.

3 Changes That Team India Should Make Going Into The Fourth T20I:

Remove KL Rahul And Bring In Suryakumar Yadav:

Kl Rahul has scored 1,0 and 0 in the three T20s so far and his poor display at the top of the order has collapsed the batting efforts two times already. He looks out of game time as he was benched most of the season in the test series and needs to address his woes as soon as possible. His number has been excellent in the last two years for India in T20 internationals and a break might just bring his A-game back.

KL Rahul can make way for a Suryakumar Yadav in the lineup who hasn’t got the chance to bat yet in the series. Suryakumar Yadav started in the second T20 and India chased down the target with just three wickets down which meant that Suryakumar Yadav had to wait for his batting opportunity. With Rahul’s failures at the top, Suryakumar Yadav might well get his chance in the middle order again for the second T20.

Remove Yuzvendra Chahal And Bring In Rahul Tewatia:

Yuzvendra Chahal has bowled 12 overs so far in the series picking up three wickets and has given away 119 runs which are nearly 10 an over. The worrying factor has been wicket-taking ability too which is sliding in the wrong direction and to add to that his fielding standards have been very poor too. India must recognize that Chahal needs to be given a rest and Rahul Tewatia needs to be introduced for the fourth T20i.

Rahul Tewatia has been on the sidelines from the first T20 and there has not been any confirmation on his fitness which was a question mark. Tewatia wasn’t able to clear the yoyo test or 2 km run which had put his place in jeopardy and he had to wait in Ahmedabad until he clears the test. His leg-spin bowling along with his useful batting down the order could be very handy at the moment, and India must give him a chance if he is available in place of Chahal.

Open The Innings With Ishan Kishan And Rohit Sharma:

Ishan Kishan batted beautifully in his debut international game in the second T20 against England and his knock of 56 from just 34 balls was instrumental in India’s comeback. He pummelled the bowling attack of England to all parts and played his natural game which was to attack from the word go. He hit four sixes and five fours in the innings and was very impressive which retained him in the playing XI for the third T20. He should open the innings along with Rohit at the top.

Rohit Sharma has been in great form during the test series against England and his white ball numbers have been great in the last three to four years. He has the ability to score big hundreds if he gets going and holds the record for the most number of international T20 centuries with four in his kitty. His addition to the top will certainly boost the Indian batting lineup which hasn’t been at its best. He will have to partner his IPL teammate Ishan Kishan at the top.
