A lot of world-class players have opted to take part in the second leg as it could be the much-needed practice for the T20 World cup that is scheduled in the same venue after the IPL gets over.
The IPL 2021 UAE leg will start off with the defending champions Mumbai Indians taking on their rivals Chennai Super Kings. The tournament this year is expected to be a blockbuster and the final will take place on October 15th. Here are 4 teams that can qualify for the playoffs.
4 Teams Which Can Qualify For The Playoffs:
Mumbai Indians:

Mumbai Indians are currently at the 4th position in the points table having won 4 out of their 7 games and they have a positive run rate as well which might be useful for them at the backend of the tournament. Mumbai Indians do have a star-studded lineup and the defending champions have won the most number of IPL trophies as well.
The Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma does know how to get into the playoffs and they had an excellent IPL in the UAE pitches last year. They will have stiff competition for the fourth slot from RCB, Punjab, and Rajasthan, but they have the edge above all these teams with their better balance.
Royal Challengers Bangalore:

Royal Challengers Bangalore finally managed to start the tournament with a bang and they won the first four games in this season very comfortably. The Virat Kohli-led team has so far carried the barrier of not winning an IPL trophy yet and they have got the resources covered this year to make it happen.
The likes of Devdutt Padikkal, Glenn Maxwell, and AB de Villiers all came to the part in the first half and Harshal Patel has been the leading wicket so far as well with 17 wickets. Their negative run rate might be an issue but they are expected to make the playoffs with 5 wins in 7 games already.
Chennai Super Kings:

Chennai Super Kings did not have the best of IPL seasons last year as they did not qualify for the playoffs for the first time in IPL history. The MS Dhoni-led side has been a revelation with their consistency and they made up for the poor season last year with some excellent performances this year. The return of Suresh Raina was a major boost to the team.
Chennai has won 5 out of their 7 games so far and they have the best run rate among the teams as well. They will almost undoubtedly make the playoffs if they manage to win 3 of their remaining games. They look well in contention for winning the title as well as the inclusion of Moeen Ali has been one of the key factors.
Delhi Capitals:

Delhi Capitals have been very impressive so far in the IPL 2021 and they are most likely to become the first team to qualify for the playoffs this season. Delhi has won 6 out of their 8 games so far and they have the second-best net run rate as well which will boost their chances. They are at top of the points table at the moment.
Delhi has a strong Indian contingent alongside quality overseas players and their regular skipper Shreyas Iyer has also confirmed his participation in the UAE leg. Their opening combination of Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan have been scintillating to watch and it won’t be a surprise if they go on to win their maiden title this year.
