Rishabh Pant utilized every bit of the opportunity he was handed over by the management and now he is the first choice wicket-keeper batsman of team India in Test cricket.

KL Rahul was not in India’s scheme of things since Shubman Gill was handed over the responsibility to open the innings with Rohit Sharma. Many reports suggested that Rahul was drafted in India’s squad as a middle-order batsman and India doesn’t consider him an opener anymore.

However, Shubman Gill got injured and was ruled out of the entire Test cricket series against England. In his absence, Mayank Agarwal was all set to open but ahead of the match in one of the training sessions he suffered a head injury which led him to get ruled out of the first match. After that India forcefully has to give the opening slot to KL Rahul and he has cemented his spot on the top order after, his back-to-back amazing performances.

In the first match of the series, he scored a sensational half-century and had a decent outing in the second innings of the same match. Also in the second Test against England at Lord’s cricket ground, London he finally scored a century in the tough batting conditions against a very strong English pace battery.
