IND vs WI: Rishi Dhawan And Shahrukh Khan In Contention For A Spot In The India Squad vs West Indies- Reports

All-rounder Rishi Dhawan and batsman Shahrukh Khan are in contention for a spot in the Indian squad for upcoming the 6-match limited-overs series against the West Indies National Cricket Team.

Rishi Dhawan had a sensational run in the recent Vijay Hazare Trophy and he guided Himachal Pradesh towards the title victory. If he makes it to the Indian squad for the West Indies series it will be after six years he will be seen in the One Day International team.

Also, Tamil Nadu’s Shahrukh Khan is likely to get a call-up for the three-match T20I series against West Indies, which will be played from February 16 to 20 in Kolkata.

Shahrukh batted brilliantly in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, playing the role of a finisher in the team. He even helped Tamil Nadu win the title with his amazing last-ball six against Karnataka.

Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh captain Dhawan in the Vijay Hazare Trophy scored 458 runs and bagged 18 wickets in eight matches.

With Hardik Pandya not fully fit, the team management is looking at Dhawan to fill the all-rounder’s role in the team as Venkatesh Iyer is being looked at as a T20 specialist.

Rohit Sharma All Set To Make A Comeback In The Series vs West Indies

Indian white-ball captain Rohit Sharma, who got ruled out of the South Africa series due to a hamstring injury, is all set to make a comeback in the series against West Indies and with his return vice-captain KL Rahul is once again expected to bat in the middle order in the three-match ODI series. Other than Rohit, spin bowling all-rounders Washington Sundar and Axar Patel are expected to make a comeback in the squad.

Meanwhile, all three ODI matches of the series will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad and all three T20I matches will be played at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
