Virat Kohli’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma feels that coming up with too many openers will create confusion in the Indian team. His words arrive after Shreyas Iyer opened the innings with Ishan Kishan in IND vs WI 5th T20I.

Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav opened the innings for the team in the last first four IND vs WI T20I matches. In the final game, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan opened the innings as Sharma and Yadav were rested in the match.

Too Much Experimentation Can Create A Lot of Confusion: Rajkumar Sharma

Former Delhi cricketer and Virat Kohli’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma feels that too much experimentation for openers can create a lot of confusion. He also urged the Indian management to play with their best possible XI to give enough game time to the players.

“Too much experimentation can create a lot of confusion. KL Rahul is a certainty to open the batting with Rohit Sharma once he is fit. You played Suryakumar Yadav at the top first, and yesterday you opened with Iyer. Although this gives flexibility, the management should also give clarity to their players whether or not they are a part of the 15 or the XI. I urge the team management to play with their best possible XI and give them enough game time to ensure there is continuity.” Rajkumar Sharma told India News.

Suryakumar Yadav playing as an opener in IND vs WI T20I series was itself a surprise for many. He had only played as a middle-order batter before this series. This year, players like Rishabh Pant and Deepak Hooda have also opened the innings in T20Is for India.
