IND vs WI: Karnataka Duo KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal Join Indian Team Ahead Of 2nd ODI

Indian ODI team’s vice-captain KL Rahul and opening batter, Mayank Agarwal joined the Indian team in Ahmedabad on Monday, two days ahead of the second ODI against the West Indies.

The duo was seen training at the Narendra Modi Stadium along with their teammates. Rahul had opted out of the first game to tend to a personal matter while Agarwal was in quarantine after being called up a week before the series.

Navdeep Saini finished his isolation period after testing positive last week and has also met up with the squad. The BCCI released pictures of the trio having a go in the nets session on Monday.

Along with Saini, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, and Ruturak Gaikwad had tested positive. The BCCI confirmed that the medical team was monitoring their situation and it was also revealed that the players were asymptomatic.

The rest tested negative and played in the first ODI on Sunday. As backup options, Ishan Kishan and Shahrukh Khan were called up and the former was even included in the playing XI.

India leads the series 1-0 having secured a comfortable 6-wicket victory in the first match. Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar starred with the ball as they shared seven wickets amongst themselves.

Rohit Sharma then led the way with a 51-ball 60 and ensured that India was able to chase down the target of 177 quite easily.
