Former Indian captain Virat Kohli convinced Indian white-ball captain Rohit Sharma to take a review, which turned out to be a successful one, in the first ODI clash of the three-match One Day International (ODI) series between India National Cricket Team and West Indies National Cricket Team at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Sunday, February 6.
In the 5th ball of the 22nd over of West Indies’ innings senior leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal bowled a length delivery on middle and off, turning sharply, and West Indies batsman Shamarh Brooks tried to defend the ball but he got a scratch on it and the Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant easily took the catch.

Indian players appealed but the umpire wasn’t convinced and adjudged the batsman not out. Rishabh Pant was not sure about his decision and some other players also thought it was pad first but Yuzvendra Chahal was convinced about a caught-behind and he urged the skipper Rohit Sharma to take a review.
Also, former captain, Virat Kohli was on the same page and he was confident that the ball has hit the bat first and he suggested captain Rohit Sharma to take a review. Rohit then went for a review and there was a spike on UltraEdge when the ball was next to the bat and for the third time in the match India took the successful review.
West Indies National Cricket Team were off to a poor start as star opening batsman Shai Hope was castled by pacer Mohammed Siraj in the 4th ball of the 3rd over and he managed to score only 8 runs.
Brandon King and Darren Bravo survived in the powerplay overs and added 31 runs off 52 balls. However, they were unable to survive the 12th over, which was bowled by spin bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar. Sundar dismissed Brandon King for 13 in the second ball and Darren Bravo for 18 in the last ball of the over.
Nicholas Pooran and Shamarh Brooks had a 26 runs partnership off 45 balls before senior leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal produced a two-wicket over by dismissing Kieron Pollard and Nicholas Pooran. At the time of writing, West Indies are at 167/9
