Kane Richardson Reveals How The Australian Team Planned MS Dhoni's Dismissal

In an exciting encounter in Bengaluru, Australian team managed to get their first win of the series with a 21-run victory.

After having won the toss, Steve Smith decided to bat first and Aaron Finch and David Warner put up a grand show with the bat and took the visitors to a huge first innings total of 334-5.

India had a decent start too with Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma marked their half centuries. But once Rohit Sharma got run-out due to a misunderstanding with the skipper Virat Kohli.

India eventually went on to lose the match, as MS Dhoni failed to finish things off for the Men in Blue. Former India captain came into bat when India needed 43 runs off 23 balls.

It was Kane Richardson who gave Australia the crucial wicket of MS Dhoni in the end and gave Australia their first victory.

The fast-bowler in an interview with Cricket Australia revealed what his captain, Steve Smith told him that worked for the visitors, to register their first win of the series.

Speaking about the thrilling game, Richardson said that it was not easy chasing 40 of three overs and he added that it felt good executing the plans.

“Yeah.. umm it was down to the wire, but 40 of 3 overs sounds like a lot, as a batting team you can chase it down quite easily in this day and age. So it was just keeping our plans what Smithy wanted and it was nice when the captain tells you what to do, so you just go about and try to execute that as best as you can.” He said.

When asked about was he nervous bowling to MS Dhoni? The 26-year old said, he was guided by his skipper on how to tackle MS Dhoni in the last stages of the innings.

“I haven’t experienced bowling to him at the death before.I’ve played against him a little bit in IPL but I haven’t managed to bowl to him in the end so it is nerve wrecking coz you have your plans in the meeting and the plan is to never put it in his arc pretty much and pace on the ball is a bad thing, so as I said Smithy knows him pretty well, so he just come up and said look do this and all you can do is try your best and luckily last night things worked out.” He concluded.

India lead the five-match series 3-1 and the last game will be played on Sunday (1st October) in Nagpur.
