India has made some significant changes to the Asia Cup squad. Indian selectors have brought in Ravindra Jadeja and Siddharth Kaul whereas Shardul Thakur and Axar Patel have been shown the exit doors. Shardul Thakur had an ordinary match against Hong Kong as he was on the expensive side. Meanwhile, Axar Patel once again didn’t get a chance in the playing XI. Patel is ruled out due to a finger injury whereas Thakur is out due to a hip injury.

Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja has returned to the ODI side after the Champions Trophy. Jadeja had scored an unbeaten 86 in the final Test match against England. Furthermore, Jadeja was right on the money with the ball as well.

Jadeja finally comes back.

On the other hand, Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of the tournament. Pandya had suffered an acute back injury while bowling against Pakistan. Thus, India had called up Deepak Chahar into the side. Chahar has done well at the domestic level and also did well for India A side.

Meanwhile, India was able to tick the right boxes against Pakistan. Men in Blue had a tough time against Hong Kong as they had to sweat hard for their win. However, India was able to win convincingly against Pakistan as they cruised to a comfortable eight wickets win.

Indian bowlers laid the foundation as they skittled out Pakistan for just 162 runs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kedar Jadhav were the chief destroyers as both of them scalped three wickets each.

Subsequently, the batsmen were also able to do a fine job. Rohit Sharma scored his 35th ODI fifty to give a fine platform to the run-chase. Shikhar Dhawan scored a fine 46 whereas Ambati Rayudu and Dinesh Karthik applied the finishing touches as both scored 31 runs each.

Thus, India was able to come up with a complete performance against their arch-rivals. India will now lock horns with Bangladesh in the first Super Four match tomorrow at Dubai.
