Young India National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, while talking about the Asia Cup 2022 clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, said that the players are “a little bit nervous, but there is no reason to worry”.

In the upcoming Asia Cup 2022, India National Cricket Team will lock horns with Pakistan National Cricket Team in their opening clash at the Dubai International Stadium on August 28. The last time when the arch-rivals went head-to-head, the Men In Green defeated the Men In Blue by 10 wickets in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 match in UAE.

Meanwhile, the 24-year-old said that the Men In Blue will play the match against Pakistan with their full potential and was confident of positive outcomes in both the Asia Cup and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.

“That it is bound to happen, a little bit nervous. But there is no reason to worry. Each and every team will be nervous before the big match and series. This is our first match with Pakistan and we will play it to our full potential.

“The World Cup 2022 is just a few weeks away, so our team’s preparations are 100 percent on the right path. We are constantly working on our process and you will see the positive results in both the series (Asia Cup, World Cup),” said Pant.

After the Asia Cup clash, the arch-rivals India and Pakistan are also set to go head-to-head in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

During the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21, India National Cricket Team defeated Australia National Cricket Team at the Melbourne Cricket Ground to make a strong comeback in the series after a batting horror show in the Adelaide Test. Pant said that the MCG Test is unforgettable for him.

“The memorable Test match will always be unforgettable for me. After the way we performed in Adelaide, the way we bounced back on the MCG ground and won, it increased the morale of the team.

“Once again, the biggest match of the World Cup is to be played on this ground. But there is no concern for us. The ambience of this ground is quite good. The crowd plays an important role in T20 and especially at the MCG, we have been feeling like playing at home. With many people of Indian Origin settled in Melbourne, Indian players feel a sense of being at home.”

Rishabh Pant, who is a big foodie, further talked about his favourite restaurants in Melbourne. He said:

“You all know I’m a big foodie. I have a request to eat some good dishes all the time, but due to continuous cricket, the diet plan has to be followed. In Melbourne, I love the State of Victoria and Christine Rain Forest Restaurants.”

“Axar Patel, Avesh Khan, Ishan Kishan, Shubman Gill visited here often. Secondly, Melbourne is also very famous for its delicious coffee. With captain Rohit Sharma, we have often spent our time in many big coffee lounges in the city,” Rishabh Pant added.
