Asia Cup 2022: "Criminal Act"- Mohammad Hafeez Slams PCB's Handling Of Injured Shaheen Afridi

Shaheen Afridi’s injury has been causing problems for Management as they don’t have a bowler of his calibre. Shaheen was taken to the Netherlands tour and PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) was hoping that the pacer plays a couple of matches in order to get some match practice before Asia Cup 2022. The injury got worse as the pacer is now doubtful for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. His absence means that the bowling lineup in Pakistan is fragile.
Mohammad Hafeez criticized PCB’s management of a star bowler. Hafeez has played Cricket with Shaheen Afridi and he knows how effective he is when the pacer is fully fit. Hafeez was an integral part of Pakistan’s Setup till the 2021 T20 World Cup.
Mohammad Hafeez on Shaheen Afridi
Mohammad Hafeez: “My problem with Shaheen is that he is not just Pakistan’s product but that of the world. The world wants to see him. We have to look after him in a right way,” Hafeez said in a video he shared on Twitter.
“The things that I read and heard over the last few days, there was an official post. So this time period of 4 weeks or 6 weeks or 8 weeks – since the time he got injured, I think wasting this time is a criminal act,”
“A product like Shaheen, who is not just Pakistan’s but the world’s, and we have more such cricketers who have a fan following across the world, we need to look after them properly. This is why I feel they have now understood that and sent him to England,” Hafeez continued.
“I feel they should have taken this decision when he got injured in the first place. They should have settled their findings straight away and should have sent him for the best rehab to England or wherever else,” he said.

Shaheen Afridi running out of time
The left-arm pacer would have thought of ripping apart the Indian Batting lineup. His injury has gone from bad to worse. The pacer was seen watching the match at the Dubai International Stadium. There was also Shoaib Malik there; it’s a bit of mystery regarding Shoaib Malik’s availability as the selectors have refused to make any comment.
Shaheen Afridi is someone who may not get bogged down easily and would come stronger than ever. Shaheen would desperately want to be in the marquee event and help Pakistan win their 2nd ICC T20 World Cup Title. Last time, the team got knocked out in the Semi-Finals stage against the Mighty Australians.
