Ajay Jadeja, a former cricketer for India, suggested what he thought the starting XI for the important tournament should look like, although not picking the team with absolute certainty.

India will depart for Australia in two months to attend the 2022 T20 World Cup. Except for a few names, everyone is still competing for a spot in the final 15, but veterans and analysts have continued to voice their opinions about the team’s composition and who should be on it.

Ajay Jadeja selected a bowling lineup that included a spinner and three pacers. Notably, he chose Mohammed Shami above Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who had taken the most wickets for India over that period but had not appeared in a single T20I match since the last World Cup.

“I have joined Shami on the team. So I choose bowlers first for me. Shami is therefore a given. Chahal, Arshdeep, and Bumrah. These four things are certain. Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, and Deepak Hooda are my go-to batsmen.”

“You have the powerplay, middle innings, and death innings covered for this bowling attack. They can be bowled anyplace. They are adaptable even for the hitters,” Ajay Jadeja remarked.

‘He is very good as a commentator: Ajay Jadeja

Ajay Jadeja referred to India’s new batting approach and suggested that if they stick with it, former India skipper Kohli might be benched from the team. The selectors will keep Kohli and will then have to choose Dinesh Karthik for the XI, he added, if India chooses the MS Dhoni route.

“Now you need to pick differently if you want to play as aggressively as I have heard them play. You must use every means to get Dinesh Karthik if Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma enter the field. He is your protection. But if you do not have either of them, Dinesh Karthik is not needed in this situation.”

“But Karthik can sit next to me; I would not place him there. He excels in providing commentary. But I would not choose him for that team, there. You must now choose between playing Axar or Ravindra. Karthik, Kohli, and Rohit should be added if it is Dhoni-style. But you can not play cricket today if Karthik is included. Maybe even Kohli, depending on how well-formed he is.” he added.
The Men in Blue will begin its Asia Cup campaign with the high-octane clash against Pakistan.
