Asia Cup 2022: IND vs SL- India Playing 11 vs Sri Lanka (Predicted), Super 4, Match 3 (A1 vs B1). Sri Lanka will take on India on September 6 in the super 4 stages. Both teams have fought very hard to get to this position. India has proved that they are still the best performing team in international tournaments by beating their arch-rival Pakistan in their first match.

Then they got qualified into the super 4 stages after defeating Hong Kong and now they have come to the most crucial stage where they should give their best to move up to the finals.

On the other hand, the Sri Lankan team began their match with a loss to the mighty Afghanistan team but somehow they managed to get into the super 4 stages by defeating Bangladesh. Still, they have a lot of work to do if they want to beat India in the Super 4 stages.

Sri Lanka pulled off a major upset, beating Afghanistan by 4 wickets in the Super 4 opener. With that, Dasun Shanaka-led Sri Lanka also avenged their humiliating loss in the Asia Cup 2022 opener.

India has suffered a huge blow in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 as their star spin bowling all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out due to a knee injury. The same knee injury which has been haunting him for the past 2 years has resurfaced again. India doesn’t have 3 of their first-choice players at the moment, namely, Jasprit Bumrah, Harshal Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja.

Axar Patel is the most obvious replacement option because of his skill set. He also perfectly fills the void left by Ravindra Jadeja both with the bat and the ball. Deepak Hooda can be another option for India to replace Ravindra Jadeja in the Asia Cup 2022 team. The dynamic middle-order batsman has been given a long rope on the Indian side and he has grabbed all the opportunities that had been given to him with both hands.

After Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of the Asia Cup 2022 tournament, the Rohit Sharma-led side suffered another blow as pacer Avesh Khan also missed the clash against Pakistan. The right-arm pacer reportedly was suffering from viral fever for the last 2 days and he was deemed unfit by the medical team to play India’s next game against Pakistan.

Few media reports have suggested that if Avesh Khan fails to recover in time, Deepak Chahar will be added to India’s squad. India has met Sri Lanka 24 times in T20Is with India emerging victorious on 17 occasions. Sri Lanka has won 7 matches. India won all 3 matches the last time the two teams met in India in T20Is in February 2022.

Sri Lanka is expected to retain their playing XI that played against Afghanistan while India may bring in the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin, Deepak Hooda, or Axar Patel in their next game against Sri Lanka in Asia Cup 2022. India played Deepak Hooda and Ravi Bishnoi in the game against Pakistan.

Mohammad Nawaz stunned India with the bat after helping restrict them with the ball after a rampant start to give Pakistan a thrilling win in their Super 4 match against India. A week after India chased successfully in a thrilling group-stage finish, Pakistan returned the favour, asking India to bat and getting home with just one ball to spare.

Mohammad Rizwan anchored the chase with 71 off 51, but it was Mohammad Nawaz who provided the desperately needed impetus. Promoted to No. 4, he smashed 42 off 20 balls to put Pakistan back on track as India’s Virat Kohli’s 44 ball 60 went in vain.

Pakistan 182 for 5 (Rizwan 71, Nawaz 42) beat India 181 for 7 (Kohli 60, Rahul 28, Rohit 28, Shadab 2-31) by five wickets

Virat Kohli is experiencing a dip in form, having just crossed 1000 days since his last century in any format of the game. However, with 3462 T20I runs in 102 T20Is at an average of 50.91, Virat Kohli is still a dangerous player that any side in the world would want to be included in their lineup. He rested for the entire limited overs West Indies series and Zimbabwe ODIs after a poor time in England where he managed only 12 runs in 2 T20Is.

He looked in fine touch scoring 35 off 34 balls in his 100th T20I Asia Cup 2022 opener against Pakistan before being dismissed by Mohammad Nawaz while trying to increase the run rate. He scored his 31st T20I fifty against Hong Kong, remaining unbeaten on 59 off 44 balls. His 60 off 44 balls against Pakistan in the Super 4 match went in vain. He would want to score big in India’s 2nd Super 4 Asia Cup 2022 game against upbeat Sri Lanka.

A right knee injury has ended Ravindra Jadeja’s Asia Cup campaign. Axar Patel, who was initially named as a stand-by player, will join India’s main squad as a like-for-like replacement. Ravindra Jadeja was a key performer in both of India’s matches at the Asia Cup so far.

In the absence of injured Ravindra Jadeja, India opted to play Deepak Hooda against Pakistan in the Super 4 game. In 8 T20I innings (10 T20Is) so far in 2022, Deepak Hooda scored 290 runs at an average of 48.33 at a strike rate of 157.61 which includes a record century against Ireland as well. He has managed 592 runs in 49 T20Is averaging 28.19.

In the Asia Cup 2022 India’s opening fixture against Pakistan, he was preferred over Rishabh Pant and scored 1* off 1 ball besides taking 3 catches. He didn’t keep or bat against Hong Kong as Rishabh Pant returned. Rishabh Pant scored 14 off 12 balls in the Super 4 match against Pakistan and his failure may see the return of Dinesh Karthik against Sri Lanka.

He would want to be amongst wickets in India’s 2nd Super 4 Asia Cup 2022 game against upbeat Sri Lanka if selected. Ravi Bishnoi played against Pakistan in the Super 4 game and was economical returning with figures of 1/26 in 4 overs.

The right-arm spinner showcased his spin magic during IPL 2022, where he scalped the most 27 wickets to grab the Purple Cap playing for Rajasthan Royals. The leggie, who was shockingly left out for the previous 2021 World T20I, has not just knocked on the door, but broken it down with his performances for India.

He has 80 scalps in 65 T20Is averaging a mere 24.81 and is India’s leading wicket-taker in T20Is.
