Rajkumar Sharma, Virat Kohli’s former coach, agreed that the fact that his pupil has only played a restricted amount of T20I cricket this year is a small cause for concern.
Aside from skipping Team India’s limited-overs tours to the West Indies and Zimbabwe, Kohli has only participated in four T20 Internationals in 2022. He is back on the Indian team and will be hoping to be at the top of his game for the forthcoming Asia Cup in 2022.

Sharma was questioned about how difficult it would be for Virat Kohli to bat aggressively for Team India given that he has not played much T20I cricket this year during a debate on India News Sports. He answered:

“The fact that he has not participated in many T20 games raises a small concern. But because of how well he is prepared, I am not at all concerned. He is returning feeling quite upbeat and rejuvenated. Therefore, there is not much cause for alarm.”

The great batsman of the present knows how to correct his errors, Sharma said, going on to explain:
“He is a player who is not given many opportunities. He may be making mistakes, but I think he is aware of them and aware of how to fix them. Everyone is aware that he used to be the best at converting their starts, but that has not been the case recently. As a result, he is very aware of his role and the steps necessary to resolve this issue.”
