Kaneria praised Sri Lanka, saying, Sri Lanka has beaten Pakistan in every format except this one, and I don’t understand why captain Babar Azam didn’t give the ball to Mohammad Nawaz early.  Nawaz came into the bowling in the 16th over and bowled the over.

“Congratulations Sri Lanka on Winning the Asia Cup. Well deserved victory. Lankans change the trend of winning toss and winning match, they outclassed Pakistan in every department. Y Nawaz was not bowling poor captaincy,” Kaneria tweeted.

Pakistan won the toss and asked Sri Lanka to bat first. Sri Lankan openers Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka were dismissed early and returned to the pavilion on 23/2. However, even after this, Sri Lanka lost wickets early because the Pakistani bowlers had put a lot of pressure on the Sri Lankan batsmen at the time.

The turning point in Sri Lanka’s innings, however, came when Bhanuka Rajapaksa batted.  Rajapaksa’s 45-ball 71 made a significant contribution to the team’s challenging score of 170/6.

In reply, when Pakistan came out to bat, Dilshan Madushanka had the worst start as he bowled five illegal deliveries and conceded nine runs. Pakistan captain Babar Azam for 5 runs in Pramod Madushan bowling.

Wanindu Hasaranga and Chamika Karunaratne again broke the Pakistan middle order batting and after that created a lot of problems for the Pakistan team.

Pakistan were bowled out for 147 runs in the full 20 overs, with Mohammad Rizwan top-scoring for the team with a 49-ball 55.
