Irfan Pathan, a former Indian all-rounder, called attention to Rohit Sharma’s two mistakes, which could have cost India the game against Sri Lanka.
In the current 2022 Asia Cup, there have been concerns made about how India has utilized its bowling and batting resources. India will not be competing in the final to retain their championship after losing to Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super 4, as evidenced by Pakistan’s stunning one-wicket victory over Afghanistan on Wednesday.

Irfan Pathan believes that India should reconsider bringing Mohammed Shami back into the fold as a T20 bowler to take more wickets in the powerplay.

“You did not use the sixth bowler on the team you selected, and the other five bowlers did not get the desired results. Now is the time to see if a bowler can enter the World Cup race and help the Indian team. If you are merely searching for a new ball, I believe Mohammad Shami is the best option,” Pathan stated on Star Sports.
Rohit Sharma missed a trick a couple of times: Irfan Pathan
Irfan Pathan believes that the Indian captain should have bowled the ball to Deepak Hooda since the surface was favourable to spinners and that Arshdeep Singh should have bowled the 19th over instead of Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

“Anything near 180 was a very nice score.” There was no dew on the ground, as far as I could tell. There was also a little bit for the spinners. The spinners took four of the wickets that fell. That suggests the ball was gripping a little too tightly. That is where Rohit Sharma blundered a few times.”

“No.1 Deepak Hooda didn’t bowl. Second, Arshdeep should have bowled the 19th over because the lengthier side of the boundary would have been advantageous to the left arm. I also said it during the commentary. In my opinion, these two sides… Rohit Sharma should have done better,” Irfan Pathan said on Star Sports.
Rohit later revealed that the Sri Lankan right-handers batted a little longer than intended, preventing him from bringing in off-spinner Hooda.
