Due to the Covid-19 protocols, a lot of cricketers are seen dealing with mental issues. In India, people don’t give importance to the mental aspect as it is considered taboo. Virat Kohli in his latest interview revealed that it was tough for him to overcome that phase. The batter wasn’t a part of the Caribbean tour as he was given a break to rediscover himself.

Virat Kohli had a poor IPL Season where he hardly made any significant impact with the bat in hand. It looked as if Kohli didn’t have the passion to succeed at this level. Although, the batter was looking in swift touch in the nets against the bowlers ahead of India vs Pakistan clash. The Pakistani bowlers would be threatened as Virat is someone who always rises to the occasion.

Ajay Jadeja on Virat Kohli

Ajay Jadeja, the former Indian Cricketer made an interesting statement about the former skipper. “Virat Kohli is loved because he does things that no one else does. For a man to think that ‘I didn’t want to go to a ground’ tells you what state of mind he must have been in. I’m glad he’s in that position where he can say that ‘I haven’t touched a bat’ and can still go out to play for India,” Jadeja said on Cricbuzz.

This will break another myth. Great players have to not just pave the way for themselves, but for the ordinary people also, who are coming behind them. It shows, that even the greatest minds and strongest players can go through this.

“Imagine a young boy, he can also go through this, but it is just not accepted. Here is the greatest player saying that ‘this can happen to me. I just hope that the cricketing system looks at people who are weaker, and also helps them out,” Jadeja further said.

Rohit Sharma & Rahul Dravid would be hoping for an ideal combination so that there is no chopping & changing at the last moment. The Selectors & management would be waiting for an in-form Virat Kohli with the bat apart from the field.

Virat knows that to some extent the Coach & Captain can back him; but not when he is not at all performing. The team needs a stable batter in the middle order that’s the reason why Virat Kohli is getting a long rope. The star Indian batter knows that he is one shot away from rediscovering himself as the entire Cricket Fraternity want him to succeed. Even Shaheen Afridi told him that he will pray for his form which is quite rare.
