Pakistan National Cricket Team have been dealt with yet another injury blow in the Asia Cup 2022 as the 24-year-old right-arm pacer Shahnawaz Dahani has been ruled out of the upcoming high-voltage encounter against the India National Cricket Team.

On Friday, Pakistan National Cricket Team defeated Hong Kong National Cricket Team at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium by 155 runs in their first-ever T20I meeting to advance to the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup. This was Pakistan’s first T20I victory in 2022. Also, the 155-run win over Hong Kong is Pakistan’s biggest margin of victory in T20I history.

Now, the Men In Green are set to lock horns with arch-rivals India National Cricket Team on Sunday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Notably, Pakistan lost their Asia Cup 2022 opener against Rohit Sharma and Co. at the same venue on August 28 and they will aim to take revenge in the Super 4 stage.

In an official media release on Saturday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) stated that the 24-year-old right-arm pacer Shahnawaz Dahani will miss out on Sunday’s game against India due to a suspected side strain, which he suffered during the game against Hong Kong National Cricket Team.

“Shahnawaz Dahani will not be available for Sunday’s ACC T20 Asia Cup Super-4 match against India due to a suspected side strain. The injury happened while bowling in the match against Hong Kong in Sharjah on Friday,” the Pakistan Cricket Board said in an official media release on Saturday, September 3.

“As is the case with any suspected side strain injury, the medical team will monitor him for the next 48-72 hours, following which they will make decisions, including carrying out a scan and further participation in the tournament,” the Pakistan Cricket Board further stated.

According to reports, pacer Hasan Ali will replace Shahnawaz Dahani in the playing XI in the high-profile game against India.
