After eclipsing Pakistan with a confident win last Sunday, the Men in Blue are all set to face their arch-rivals again at the same venue in the Super 4s of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022. Both teams were in Group A and while India topped the group by winning both their matches, Pakistan too made a strong statement after losing to India as they brushed aside Hong Kong in their final group-stage clash to qualify for the Super 4s.
On the eve of their second meeting in the ongoing tournament, Team India head coach Rahul Dravid indirectly ruled out Avesh Khan, stating that the pacer is down with fever.

Rahul Dravid reveals the reason for dropping Avesh Khan
“Avesh is feeling a little bit unwell, just been under the favour, a little bit of fever, doctors are managing the situation, he is not at practice today hopefully he is not too serious and should be okay for tomorrow’s game (against PAK), if not, then later part of the tournament,” Rahul Dravid said in the pre-match press conference.
The 25-year-old pacer has been expensive in both the games he played, conceding 19 in two overs against Pakistan and 53 in his four-over spell against Hong Kong.
After hearing Dravid saying that Avesh might miss the game against Pakistan on Sunday (September 4), fans took to Twitter to celebrate his exclusion from the team.
